Bicicleta Sem Freio ("Bicycle Without Brake”) is the acclaimed Brazilian duo of multi-disciplinary artists Douglas de Castro and Renato Reno. Foundedin Brazil in 2005 and mostly inspired by rock illustrations and posters at the beginning, they became internationally famous for their illustrationsand murals whose visual style is so instantly recognizable and unique. Their sophistication is revealed by the complex yet harmonious layers of ideas they depict, rich in details and references. Showcasing an unexpected juxtaposition of psychedelic pop iconography, tropical colorsand a spectrum of strange and wonderful characters, their work explores themes such as post existentialism, the global culture, andneo-tropicalism. Known for their large- scale public artworks and award winning murals which can be seen in major cities all around the world, their work also extends to fashion, brand collaborations, prints and designsfor some of the world's leading musicians and athletes.
