ANTONYO MAREST AT THE STRAT, LAS VEGAS

Public Art
Client:  The STRAT Hotel & Casino
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Artists: Antonyo Marest

Service: Artist Representation, Concept, Development and Production

For our latest curation at The STRAT Hotel & Casino in collaboration with Life is Beautiful, we appointed Spanish contemporary artist Antonyo Marest to take over the property South facade with four larger than life canvas. Inspired by the artists’ time in Las Vegas, “Dancing in the Desert” is a series of four 16,000 square feet artworks featuring iconic Vegas elements like the old-fashioned cocktails, casino chips, the Nevada sunset and landscape, and even a couple of swimming pools, a facility associated with leisure and a focal point in The Strat.

Other, more abstract elements, are the zig-zag lines which represent the journey of visitors going “up and down” The Strip, placing the Strat in the middle as the place you cannot miss. Also, the neons are ever-present in the form of colorful strokes.

Ambitious and beautifully executed, the artworks sit across the resort’s facade visible from the southwest main entrance, atop the casino’s parking garage doors, near W. Bon Stupak Avenue, adding just the right amount of dazzle to the property.

“I visited Las Vegas for the first time in 2021 and was immediately captivated. The long minutes spent on The Strat’s Observation Deck, overlooking the brightest city on Earth, made me reflect on how any artwork created for this location must convey a sense of welcoming and a strong positive feeling of wanting to enjoy life to its fullest.”
