The Unexpected project brings urban and contemporary art to Arkansas through immersive public art experiences. July 2017 marks the third edition of the annual event that gives artists an opportunity to express themselves in an unlikely environment while building a beneficial cultural capital where it’s needed. Right in the heart of America.

JustKids curated, developed and produced the cultural programming, in collaboration with 64.6 Downtown, bringing together seven world renowned artists to create larger than life art experiences in Fort Smith, Arkansas. A challenge but also a game changer for the area. With this third edition we were interested in putting together interdisciplinary projects that would get viewers to revisit some of the historic landmarks in Fort Smith, discover hidden gems of the Downtown and participate in the creative process.
