Production Development and Communications Intern

 

The Production Development and Communications Intern will be an integral member of the global creative house JUSTKIDS team, focused on bringing support with communication strategy as well as assistance in development efforts prospecting leads and leveraging opportunities. The Intern will work directly with the Director/Curator, General Project Manager as well as artist teams, contractors and audio visual teams. The internship will afford insight into how a curatorial and art production firm working internationally fulfills its mission of developing comprehensive art programming and engaging diverse audiences. The opportunity will also offer a look into the 360*  lifespan of curatorial and art production projects and how these services are paid for, developed, implemented, amplified through social media and international press.  The ideal candidate will be quick witted, team oriented and well­-rounded.

Term: Part-time, 3-6 months ( subject to quarterly review).

The position requires working 2-3 days per week (15-20h),
primarily weekdays and occasional evenings/weekends for special events.  

Location:  Split between in person office time in San Juan, PR and Remote work.

Salary: Internship paid in an hourly basis: $8h  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the prospecting and development of clients, aiding in the crafting of resources like proposals, grants and RFP’s, lead databases, meeting reports, communications records, communication strategies, press releases and website / social media content management.   

  • Assist in the conceptualizing, organization and execution of productions, artist programs, limited edition artist series and additional potential projects as they materialize. 

  • Development and maintenance of monthly newsletters. 

  • Research artist prospects and regional institutional programs and partners.

  • Flexibility to travel for work as needed is preferred.

  • Disposition to work remotely.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing skills (English and Spanish)

  • Career interest in project development, communications, event and project production within private and institutional environments and event planning.

  • Outgoing, creative thinker with strong social and communication skills.

  • Well-organized, self-starter.

  • Must count with portable computer (Macbook operating systems preferred) 

  • Proficiency in Internet-based research, and Google Drive Suite, MAC OS systems (Pages, Keynote, Numbers preferred) . 

  • Able to focus on several projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and timelines.

  • Undergraduate student or recent graduate in fields related to communications, business development, art history, marketing and/or fine arts preferred.
